Ebohr MunozI have worked extensively in conflict situations since 1998 and have continued to be curious about how I can positively contribute in practical ways - one person at a time, one relationship at a time. The challenges that are faced for the individual also have parallels at the levels of family, workplace and society, this is what makes transforming conflict and taking on its lessons so rewarding. My experience spans relationship counselling; individual counselling and coaching; mediation of family and workplace disputes; and providing training workshops in a variety of communication and conflict resolution topics. Integrating mind and heart is an important aspect of relationships and my professional training provides me with a helpful combination of these aspects. I am a Qualified Member of the Australian Counselling Association with specialist training in relationships counselling. In addition I am qualified lawyer, registered family dispute resolution practitioner under the Family Law Act and Member of the Law Institute of Victoria. Other accreditations include NLP and adult education. Working in conflict situations has provided me with insights into assisting people to change patterns that create conflict. While supporting clients with compassion I also act as a purposeful point of reflection to support personal responsibility and living up to one's values of integrity. My work as a counsellor has also drawn upon my mediation experience in which I assist clients under high stress and in conflict. In working with couples I am particularly aware of negative conflict patterns that can undermine the future of the relationship. Conflict is of course only one aspect of self development and relationships, and I am passionate about working with clients as they explore and extend the boundaries of their being and self understanding. I have enjoyed the opportunity to learn from my other work experience which includes managing a team of family mediators, resolving workplace disputes and also working as an independent facilitator for two national dispute resolution programs. This has included the opportunity to make public presentations to the HR Summit, National Mediation Conference and the NSW Legal Aid Family Law Conference. Prior to starting work in the area of conflict resolution in 1998 I followed a passion in the environmental field and had experience as a lawyer, policy adviser and environmental advocate. Experience in the environmental area has involved work as a mediator for many years on contentious issues involving community groups, local government and business interests. I see the principle of "treading lightly on the earth" as applying to relationships at work and home just as much to our natural environment. I live in Melbourne and was born in Sydney. My unusual name emerges from my Peruvian father and Danish mother. Grad. Dip Counselling & Psychotherapy, Spec. Cert in Couple Therapy, LLB |
