Family Therapy
Each family is unique and goes through many stages. Families are shapes by the relationships between family members and by key events such as the birth of child, death of a family member, relationship break-up, re-marriage, migration and starting a career. Parenting also presents a range of challenges.
The difficulties that are presented are not always easy for family members to manage and Family Therapy supports families through difficult times to promote good relating and healing.
This way of working involves engaging with the whole family system as a functioning unit. While the individuals in the family are as important in family therapy as in individual therapy, family therapists also deal with the personal relations and interactions of the family members. |
